Our UK Domestic Projects 

We provide immediate relief, such as food distribution and essential items for struggling British families. We also offer long-term sustainable solutions, such as education, vocational training, and mentorship for refugees and asylum seekers.

Our initiatives empower women and young people, helping them overcome barriers and achieve independence. By working closely with community partners in Manchester and beyond, we are part of a larger movement to alleviate suffering, foster resilience, and create opportunities for a brighter future for all those we serve. 

Since the Covid pandemic, we have provided culturally appropriate halal hot meals to the most vulnerable in our communities each week. We have prepared, cooked, and delivered almost a quarter of a million meals.

Tackling Food Poverty


For over four years, our UK Community Kitchen Project has been a beacon of hope, providing over 100,000 hot meals for people in communities across Manchester and Tameside. 

 

Our wonderful volunteers have worked with local partner organisations to make a difference in their community. Collectively, we aim to help people less fortunate than ourselves by raising awareness, taking action to reduce poverty and improving quality of life.

 

Action For Humanity collaborates with partners Caritas, SERCO, Regional Strategic Migration Partnership, Mustard Tree, Myriad Foundation, Salford Council, Manchester City Council, Tameside Council, Manchester University, Rainbow Haven, UKEFF and Saheli.

Our UK Domestic Projects 

Mentoring & Employment Support for Refugees: In partnership with We Love MCR Charity, this initiative helps skilled refugees overcome employment barriers through mentorship, training, and job placements.

Football Sessions for Refugees: Led by qualified coaches, these sessions improve mental health and reduce isolation for asylum-seeking men in temporary accommodation.

Support for Women & Children: In collaboration with Saheli, AFH provides emergency refuge, culturally sensitive support, and care packages for women facing domestic violence, particularly those without access to public funds.

Naz Legacy Foundation: Through the Mosaic initiative, AFH promotes social integration by offering disadvantaged young people work experience, educational visits, and mentorship opportunities. 

Manchester Soup Kitchen: Partnering with Myriad Foundation, the Soup and Smiles project serves hot meals to hundreds of people experiencing homelessness in Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens.

MENTORING & EMPLOYMENT

Our partnership with 'We Love MCR Charity' supports highly qualified refugees and asylum seekers accessing training, mentorship, and employment opportunities. This initiative aims to bridge the gap for skilled individuals who face barriers in entering the UK job market, providing them with the necessary resources, networks and placements to start their professional journey anew.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

This project is run by qualified football coaches and is designed to improve mental health and wellbeing, reducing inequality for asylum-seeking men in temporary accommodation. The sessions aim to improve mental health and minimise social isolation, providing a safe environment for positive interaction.

WOMEN & CHILDREN

AFH is collaborating with Saheli, an organisation that provides support and refuge from domestic violence for women from BAME communities and their children. Saheli provides safe spaces, culturally sensitive support, and language assistance by providing emergency refuge accommodation and specialist counselling.
