Lebanon Kitchen - Al Arab UK

The situation in Lebanon is rapidly worsening. Airstrikes have intensified across the country, forcing families to flee their homes once again.

Over 1.2 million people, nearly one in five, are now displaced, many seeking safety in schools and public buildings. Families are arriving with almost nothing, struggling to access food, water, and medical care. Your support can help deliver urgent aid to those who need it most.

Across the Middle East, millions of people are facing conflict, displacement, and a dwindling supply of aid. From Gaza to Lebanon, the crisis continues to deepen as violence spreads across the region.

Recent military escalation, including the strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks across the Gulf, has heightened fears of a wider regional conflict.

Communities already struggling with conflict, economic collapse, and displacement are now under even greater strain. Across the region, including Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, and Iraq, families are losing access to food, healthcare, and essential services as instability spreads. Action For Humanity and our partners are on the ground delivering emergency support, reaching communities with the help they urgently need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your support can make a life-saving difference. Below, we have answered frequently asked questions about the situation and how you can help. Every contribution counts toward helping families survive and rebuild their lives in these difficult times.

What is the current situation in Lebanon?

Lebanon is currently experiencing severe economic and humanitarian crises. Widespread poverty, economic downturns, and the ongoing conflict with Israel have resulted in significant casualties and displacement.

Over 80% of the population is living in poverty, and nearly 36% are in extreme poverty. Recent escalations have left thousands of people in need of immediate assistance, including food, water, shelter, and medical care.

What are the key challenges facing Lebanon?

Food Insecurity: Nearly a third of Lebanon’s population is facing acute food insecurity following the escalation, disrupted supply chains and a lack of purchasing power.

Healthcare: The healthcare system is severely under-resourced, and hospitals are facing critical shortages of supplies, staff, and funding.

Education: Many schools are closed due to lack of funding, putting around 700,000 children at risk of missing out on education.

How many people are affected by the current crisis?

As of 2025, approximately 2.5 million people, including Lebanese citizens, Syrian refugees, and Palestinian refugees, require urgent assistance. At least 1.3 million people in Lebanon have been displaced, with many forced to flee their homes with almost no possessions.
