A MOTHER'S PLEA FOR HELP

WE ENDURE THE COLD, WITH NO WAY TO KEEP WARM

"Our days are spent searching for food, our nights are filled with fear. The cold seeps into our bones, and the wind rattles our fragile tent. I wrap my children in blankets, but they still shiver. My son Kareem’s skin turns blue from the freezing air. I hold him close, praying he makes it through the night."

"My name is Waad Al-Madhoon. I am 31 years old and a mother of four. My eldest, Kareem, has severe cerebral palsy. Before the war, he had access to proper healthcare, regular treatments, and a dignified life. Now, he is severely malnourished, his condition worsening every day. We live in a tent with no protection from the bitter cold.

I gave birth to my youngest, Noor, during the war. I should have been celebrating new life, but instead, I was surrounded by destruction. My daughters, Lamis and Maryam, barely understand what is happening, but they feel the hunger and the cold just as I do.

Before the war, our lives were normal. Ramadan was a time of joy, of gathering as a family around a warm meal. Now, there is no Ramadan—only survival. Prices are rising, food is scarce, and each day brings new suffering.

I do not know how much longer we can endure this. But I hold onto hope that someone will hear our story and help."
